Eileen Riley’s artistic odyssey weaves a vibrant tapestry of creativity, rooted in the evocative landscapes of rural Massachusetts. The ocean’s restless tides, whispering woodlands, and sprawling farmlands of her youth ignited a lifelong passion for translating nature’s poetry into art. A sculptor by training, Eileen honed her craft at the University of Massachusetts, where she explored the tactile alchemy of form and material. Her journey since has been a dynamic evolution, marked by bold experimentation across mediums—pottery, painting, photography, collage, assemblage, and beyond.

 

Today, Eileen commands the art world as a celebrated exhibitor, her work captivating audiences in prestigious galleries and museums across New England, New York, and beyond. Recent accomplishments illuminate her enduring vitality, including the introspective 2023 retrospective *Life of Riley* at Gallery X in New Bedford, which celebrated her mastery of Surrealism and collage; the triumphant *8 Visions* exhibit in 2025, where her layered narratives of memory and symbolism drew widespread acclaim; electrifying solo and group shows in Boston and New York; a show-stopping live painting performance at Miami’s Zao Chella during Art Basel, where her brushstrokes danced to the pulse of the moment; the 2024 publication in *War and Peace*, featuring her deeply personal mixed-media self-portrait; and her acceptance into the *NUDUS 2025* group exhibition at Gallerium, showcasing the evocative piece *JOY*. Looking ahead, Eileen has been invited to contribute original works to an upcoming exhibit at the Attleboro Arts Museum, further expanding her influence.

 

As the Scholarship Chairperson on the Board of Directors for Westport Art Group, she champions emerging talent, ensuring the next generation of artists can flourish. While she occasionally shares her expertise through classes at Westport, her primary focus is her own artistry—crafting works that resonate on national stages and, soon, international ones, as she sets her sights on global exhibitions.

 

No longer tethered to the classroom, Eileen’s days as an art instructor at Bishop Stang High School, where she once shaped young minds in three-dimensional design and set design, are now a cherished chapter of her past. Her current narrative is one of relentless creation and exploration, fueled by visits to cutting-edge galleries, immersive art classes, and a wanderlust that draws inspiration from the world’s cultural epicenters. Eileen Riley is not just an artist; she is a force, redefining her legacy with every stroke, every show, and every boundary she dares to cross.
